      Definitely. I wanted to be all the stereotypical things… doctor, vet, lawyer, judge, marine biologist, marine animal trainer… Then as I grew older I had an interest in medicine because I wanted to help people, but I also loved making things – thats when I finally found bioengineering which combines them both!

      I think I always knew I was going to be an engineer. I really like engineering because once you know and understand a few basic principles you can do a huge amount with them.

      I thought about medicine and law but in them there seems to be a lot of remembering things without knowing how they link together. In engineering everything links together and it’s amazing when you start seeing those links! I probably could have been a scientist, but engineers make things, and what could be better than that?!

      I wanted to be an aeronautical engineer, but found physics gave me more opportunities. Now I find computing and controlling equipment – design software and hardware, making it work is challenging and interesting.
