      Definitely!! That’s a great question!
      The children’s book I’ve published was put together through the Women in Engineering society at the University of Sheffield (see my profile for more info). There are lots of organisations that seek to encourage women to study engineering and to support women engineers. I don’t think there aren’t enough women because it’s unfair – I think that there is a misconception of what engineering is that make engineering unattractive to women. So we need to work harder at telling girls how great engineering is! I hope through the children’s book girls will be able to associate with Suzie (and boys through Ricky) so that they want to become engineers!
      Although there is a severe lack of women in higher positions and that is unfair!

      Yes there should. The CEO of Medel is a PhD in engineering and she runs the company, expanding it from 150 staff from when I was working there to move 1500 to day with offices in over 25 countries.

      The head of the government department DESG is a woman physicist who works in engineering.

      It less of putting women in engineering abut can the person do the work. So it’s a matter of attracting women into studying engineering, Anon career prospects interesting and worthwhile job. Shake off the dirty image of warning machine repairman
