Currently at a conference in Toulouse have world leading speakers from around the currently 1400 of us from various disciplines stuck in a small area exchanging ideas and on how best to improve what we do.
Surgical techniques for surgeons, best design in electronics, electrodes designs and stimulation strategies from electronic, mechanical and software engineers.

the conference season has taken me around most of Europe north America, and Australia. It’s great to meet people from all around the world who are the best in their field cochlea implant and rehabilitation .

I’ve met loads of interesting people. In research it’s great because you can keep in touch with them all. I’m hoping to arrange a trip to Australia and New Zealand to see some of the work that researchers there are doing. London is a great place to be as a structural engineer as there are lots of big engineering consultancies and architecture firms who are interested in what we do. There are also lots of hospitals, where we can work with the surgeons. I know the Queen’s surgeon and have met Prince Harry (briefly!).
