That’s a great question! I’m curious to know what do you think?
I’m hoping that through this children book I want to publish nationally (see my profile for further info) that it will inspire children to study engineering by telling them about it and seeing how cool it is!

Interest in the objects around them. Construction toys such as Lego lets their imagination run wild, don’t just follow the instructions use the bricks to build thing from their own imaginations.

For old children toys like Mechano (if it still exist). For software and IT the raspberry pill is a good start.

I think engineering is interesting – we just need to tell everyone about it! I think we need to give children more opportunities to find out about engineering – initiatives like IAEGMOOH and STEMnet are a really good start. I also think we need to give children opportunities to do engineering – so workshops like the Engineering Masterclasses that the Royal Institution run are great, as well as online resources that allow children and teachers to do workshops themselves.

I also think coding is a great way to get into engineering, so things like Lego mindstorms are really good, as well as technology like 3D printing becoming cheap enough that it will get into classrooms and people’s homes.

Making things, taking things apart, understanding how things work – anything that allows you to do that is great.
