I always wanted to find out what was beneath the surface of things that made them work. I love the challenge of solving problems and making things. But I also love people and I wanted to help people get better. So I decided to look through different courses and eventually came to bioengineering which is a mixture of engineering and medicine that I thought was perfect for me. I think you should always go with what you love doing.

Everything around us has been engineered! Whether it’s the house you live it, the school that you go to, the kettle that boils the water for your coffee or tea, or the train or bus that gets you to school. At some point an engineer will have been involved in creating it. I love creating things and understanding things, so there wasn’t one particular thing that inspired me to be an engineer, but I knew it was the best way to have an impact on the world around me!

I would say that my inspiration came from an interest in mechanisms originally, I am generally inquisitive and have a desire to find out how things work. I have always been interested in new technology and the fact that almost everything we touch has at somepoint passed through the hands of an engineer.
