This really depends on the course that you want to do – not all universities offer the same courses, and not all engineering courses at the same university will be as good as eachother. It is really important to find which universities offer a course you want to do – read all the information about what is covered in the course – decide how much practical/theoretical/project/research work you want to do and then find a course that focuses on what you want. Everyone learns differently and everyone wants different things from their engineering course, so think about what you want and then start looking for courses that offer it.
For example, I really wanted to be able to study in France for a year during my degree and only a few universities offered that, so that narrowed down my choice a lot.
There are lots of universities in the UK that are VERY good. Chose one for any of 100 reasons (—-“it’s near where my gran lives”, or that sort of thing) and ask for a “prospectus” from the university. This lists all the courses they run and usually what grades and what subjects are needed. Go online and have a browse.
