Engineering excites me because of the sheer scale of things you can do. If you look through the subject’s history you come across some really impressive feats. Like the combustion engine, the space shuttle and the computer to name very few. Engineering gives you the opportunity to work on some really big projects of critical importance to countries, or even the world.
@put: Explaining why things happen, but by using numbers and equations. Engineering and Physics are fairly closely related with engineering requiring you to be more “practical” than “theoretical” in most cases. I like being constructive with my hands and so find engineering very satisfying. Nothing beats seeing something you helped create from nothing actually doing something. I have seen an MRI magnet that I helped design and develop being used to MRI scan patients in a hospital and that is a great thrill. I am also proud to be working on a technology in Nuclear Fusion that just ight hold the key to energy for you or your children in the future when fossilk fuels of coal, gas or oil cannot be burnt because of the carbon they put in the air… regards Robin
