I had a friend doing a computer science course (which gave him a degree in engineering, not science) and he spent a lot of time developing computer programs. He also spent some time writing codes to make games or animations as well. Lots of people though he would know how to fix a computer, but that isn’t what computer engineers do (just like mechanical engineers don’t fix cars – mechanics do).
I agree with Becky, computer engineering can be either the design of the hardware, the actual bits you can touch and feel and some of it is the design of the programs like the one in the news recently for the tickets to the olympics, which didn’t go so well.
