Question: What Grade's did you get in 'O'-level's and 'A' Level's? Which Additional subjects did you take at O-level and which subject's did you choose at alevel?
I did double Maths (B and C) and Physics (C) and Economics (got an O level out of that) which got me into Birmingham University where I got a 2.1 hons degree. I was not a brilliant student at school but improved as I got older and more mature. I think I took 8 O levels, failed English Literature, and then had to write lines as a punishment, so wrote lots of the play we were studying and past at the retake with a very good mark! All punishment clouds do sometimes have silver linings. Regards Robin
I did double maths (both A’s), physics (B) and technical drawing (C) at A level. I did 8 ‘O’ levels in maths, english, physics, french, religious studies, music, technical drawing and computer studies (I think I got 5 A’s, 2 B’s and a C). I nearly didn’t go to university – I didn’t think I would enjoy it and wanted to get a job in a bank, but my parents encouraged me to have a go (neither of them had had the chance to go to unversity). So I did and managed to get into Imperial College and loved every bit of it. Getting to a good university and getting a good engineering degree gave me such a fantastic start to my career, I haven’t looked back since!
