@alexreidy3: Good question and I think it was that my hobbies when I was young were making model aircraft and repairing things like lawn-mowers, motorbikes and cars. This just grew and I became sure that I wanted to be constructive in my job rather than a boring accountant or solicitor. Doing what you enjoy for most of you life – your working life makes life so muych more pleasant. Regards Robin
I was always a girly-girl when I was younger and I didn’t like getting my hands dirty, so people were surprised when I decided to be an engineer. But I have always wanted to understand how and why things work. I also enjoyed maths and science (particularly physics), but I wanted to be able to apply what I was learning to real things. Engineering is exactly that – lots of theory and then lots and lots of applying it to real life problems and situations.
