@09glena1: To be an engineer, from school you need maths and ideally one or more of physics, chemistry, design and technology, which takes you onto university for a degree in one of the many “engineer” courses that are available. After a couple of years working you become a “Chartered Engineer” which means you are then able to call yourself “an Engineer”. Regards Robin

To add to what Robin has said, you can also become an engineer by doing an apprenticeship instead of a university course, but if you want to become Chartered then you will have to do a bit of extra studying afterwards.
