      Hiya Alice and Sarah,

      I took quite a few GCSEs, I took
      Maths, additional Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, French, German, Latin, History, Geography, English Literature, English Language, Religion Studies

      Most were compulsory, The ones I got to pick were – German, History, Geography, additional Maths

      A bit of a mix! What they do really well is show people that you are a rounded person, meaning you can do a wide variety of subjects. My GCSE’s put me in a really good position to go on and do the A-levels I wanted to do, and gave me a clear picture of which subjects I was better at and which I enjoyed.

      When it comes to A-levels what you want is a mix of maths/science (Maths, physics, chemistry) subjects and literary subjects (Languages, English, History, Geography etc) no matter what you plan to do in future life. It’s really good to show people that you can do both, and will really help you when it comes to getting Jobs! GCSEs are a huge stepping stone up to that.

      I still get asked about what A-levels and GCSE’s I did even today, and I still speak French and German, talk about history and geography, use scientific knowledge. Hope that helps!
