I was inspired by a WISE (Women in Science and Engineering!) week I did whilst I was in yr10/11 of school. During the week I got a taster of different engineering types for example automotive – I spray painted a car, civil – I went on a site visit to the new Hilton Hotel in Gateshead!

Aside from that was my love of Grand Designs and Kevin McCloud, along with my enjoyment of maths and physics! 😀

I was inspired by many people, but I think my parents mostly. Even though they are doctors they taught me what engineers are and what they do, I then took that knowledge and researched more about it and was hooked!

I was inspired to become an engineer first by my love of aircraft, I have always found them really fascinating because they are at the cutting edge of technology and it always amazed me how something so big could fly. I already knew I liked maths and physics and so it made sense to give it a go, and I definitely don’t regret it.
