I haven’t been graduated for long. So for a few years, my goal was to graduate and to get a job straight out of university. I ticked both of those off so that was a relief!
Now, I am doing a PhD so my next goal is to finish that. I’ve survived so far, so fingers crossed!
On my current goal, I’ve had some success but I’ve still got a long way to go! I’m starting to get some results of my laboratory tests so hopefully I’m getting there with my PhD. It’s a great feeling when you get results and feel like you’re doing something right! My goal at the moment is to finish my PhD 🙂
Kaity,
Thanks for your question.
One of my goals is to have an impact on the way companies use natural resources.
There’s an international organisation called CDP that lots of companies report to every year about how much energy, fuel and water they have used. CDP then publish the results – a bit like a football league table – so the companies can see how theyve done and who is best.
I’d like to work with a company to help them improve their score on the CDP reporting.
This year my work for Sainsburys has been included in the CDP submission. It’s just a very small part of a very big report – so only a small step towards achieving my goal. But with working towards goals, as well as making them realistic like Mark says, I think it’s important to celebrate the progress you make – this helps keep you focussed.
