Yes, chemical engineers are currently the second highest earning careers after dentistry. Typical graduate starting salaries are around the £30,000 mark, rising to around the £50,000 mark once you are experienced and chartered. If you work hard you can get onto much higher salaries than this as you progress.

I agree with Charlie and those numbers are the ones that were recently published in the daily telegraph newspaper, chemical engineering was the second highest paying job.

Engineers are paid a lot higher than the average job so it is an extra bonus 🙂

As a graduate chemical engineer I can confirm I am being paid a lot higher than my friends who don’t have engineering degrees.

There is a shortage of engineers in the UK and that is why companies will pay you highly for your skills, to attract you to work for them.
