      Hi Lindsay,

In 20 years time I will be 44. Scary.

Well I suppose by age 44 I will have had a few children with my fiancee (the sooner the better according to her). She is interested in being a human rights lawyer and we haven’t decided yet if one or neither of us will be a stay at home parent.

If I decide to be a stay at home parent I will:
      Create an educational youtube channel,
Use my data analysis skills to do research from home on large data sets, like the data sets you get when you sequence the genome of a whole organism.
Write video games using my coding skills

If I decide to continue with my career, I expect I will have completed several post-doctoral contracts (basically you travel the world as an independent researcher) and have secured a position as a college professor.

Wow 20 years! I’ll be 57 by then!

I hope by that time I could be working on a more freelance basis within engineering, so not so much tied to a company but working where there is a need and working from home.

I already do a lot of work at home as I find I can get a huge amount done without having phones ringing all day so it is certinally a route I would like to go down. It would also help me bring more diversity into my engineering knowledge.

So over the next 20 years I just want to expand my knowledge as much as possible!

      Hi Lindsay,

Excellent question and one I was told to think about even when I just started my current job and I am only 23!

I want to have achieved a lot in 20 years… worked on multi million pound engineering projects, managed teams really well to make them exceptional and I’d really like to work abroad for a few years too. I would love to learn another language by working abroad!

In 20 years I want to be a leader within a big company, making important decisions which I can be proud will have really positive impacts on employees, the company as a whole and, most importantly, the world in which we live.

Becoming an engineer is a great start to achieving this goal I think!

      Hi Lindsay 🙂

Like Danielle I have turned 23 aswell so I will be 43 wow!

First i would like to have a happy family with a few kids 😛

Secondly I see myself doing something with food or makeup and starting my own science or engineering business and basically working as a CEO of a company!! I would love to run and set up my own company following my passion.

Something that is really important to me is helping others so I really would love to build a school in a town abroad for people who don’t have a chance to get an education:)

It is great you got us thinking Lindsay 🙂
