• Question: why do you chose to do this ?

      Hi, Thanks for your question! I chose to do this because I really love food (yum), Science and engineering and my project involves all of those things. I think it is really interesting how science and engineering are so important in everyday life and that is why I chose to do this! Hope this answered your question 🙂

      I chose to follow a career in Supply Chain because I really like understanding logical processes and that is what supply chain is all about- a journey from raw materials to a drink in your hand. There is also a lot of different areas of supply chain to get involved in so I don’t think I’ll ever get bored! Not only is it about working in factories, it is about getting our products to our customers (distribution) and buying all the materials and equipment we need (this is called procurement).

      I am doing this event because scientists are starting to gain the ability to do things which are even more unimaginable than what you can see in fantasy literature and the world’s religions. In my experience the public doesn’t know how powerful we are becoming and I think young people should be aware of what they are missing out on before they choose another career.

      For me I didn’t choose to do this particular aspect of engineering, it chose me!

      I was actually approached to apply for the job and was interviewed just a couple days later. It wasn’t a job I sought but I am glad it came to me.

      I initially trained as a Marine Engineer, so I had the intent of working with ships and submarines, so something of a radical change in direction, but still using all the same basic engineering principles.

      Hi jc2755,

      I chose to do this because I feel strongly about helping students to understand what an engineer does. When I was your age, I was interested in engineering but didn’t know where to look and who to ask for information about this. I remember it being a difficult choice to make at the time, so I wanted to help other students in this position if I could, to help make the decision easier for them.
