I always enjoyed creating things and thinking solutions to day to day situations when I was younger, so perhaps I had an engineering gen. My father is an engineer and my grand father was a pioneer engineer having built one of the first rail ways in Spain a long time ago. I was very amused and proud of what they did.
As I love animals, nature and food… I decided to be an agricultural engineer! 🙂

      Heya!

Mine was actually my final year project at university. Before that I wasn’t totally sold on the old engineering front. I worked under the amazing biochemical engineer Dr. Marianne Ellis who introduced me to a new kind of meat. One you could grow in the lab!

I realised this was something that was totally applicable to real life, and could really change the world!

I’ve always wanted to make a difference in the world, and have just found a way for engineering to enable me to do that 🙂

So basically it was a bit of an accident, but the best accident ever!

I really enjoyed working out how things worked when I was younger, this then transferred into design and technical subjects at school. I never really knew too much about engineering until I enrolled onto an engineering course at a local college (after completing my GCSE’s) but as soon as I started I realized that it was a perfect fit for me.
I still enjoy the problem solving, challenges, designing, and technical aspects of engineering today.

I didn’t really know I wanted to be an engineer until 3rd year of uni!
I always like maths and chemistry and chemical engineering seemed like the best mix of both. I love finding out how things work and it’s amazing how much effort and science goes into small things like paint, food and…well, everything really!
