Great question! It’s basically the place where we make samples and carry out our experimental work.

The best way to think of it is to think of your kitchen first. It’s full of pots, pans, fridges and you make everything by hand. Now think of a factory with lots of pipes, machinery and noise where most stuff is done automatically.

The pilot plant is a pretty cool combination of both of those. There’s some large machinery (that’s quite big but smaller than factory) in the main section for making lots of samples (hundreds of kilograms) There’s also lots of rooms with marble slabs and kitchen utensils to make things by hand (maybe 100 max). Everything in the pilot plant is safe to eat and often goes for taste testing, analytical work (lab tests) or to the big bosses to show off our ideas.

If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just ask!
