To make snacks there are a lot of different ways to do it depending on the particular snacks, crisp or crackers you want. Each process will need different series of machines to do (as well as different ingredients). Typically there will be a large vessel to mix all the ingredients to together (500kg at a time), then the dough will be formed into the right shape using a cutting / moulding machine, or by extruding it through a die (holes). The the shape is dried in an oven before frying it in a big continuous fryer. Other snacks like a crackers will be baked straight away in a oven (some are up to a 100m long!). Other snacks can be expanded by heat whilst they are formed. Its called a cooking extruder and look like a big metal tube with different section in it. After that the tasty seasoning is added in a large tumbling drum to coat it evenly. Lastly of course we use packaging machine to fill and seal the bags.
