      Maglev stands for Magnetic Levitation. This means the train is hovering over the tracker – which reduces the friction normally generated between the track and the wheels to 0. Magnets on the train get pulled down the track by a magnetic field generated in the track.
      There is only 1 operational maglev in the world in China. They’re very fast and so I’ve heard very smooth.
