I have an infrared camera that I use for detecting faults in solar panels and resistance in circuits. It’s good fun to just go around putting your hands on random objects and then seeing your handprint once you’ve taken it away. I once did a whole murder mystery CSI STEM lesson with it.

One of the best things about my job is that I get to work on quite large pieces of equipment. The coolest is probably on a Steam Turbine when we stripped it down last year for a major overhaul. That’s when we really get to learn a lot very quickly.
