My Work

Head of a Function of 29 Engineering and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) profressionals – helping to ensure the availability of safe, compliant effective and reliable manufacturing facility for global supply of a flu vaccine.

My Typical Day: Starts at 8am – Reviewing the events of the previous day, agreeing the priorties for the day / week ahead… lots of meetings, planning medium to longer term activities i.e purchasing of new equipment, site development and site activities. Lots one one to one meetings with my direct reports and have at least one, one to one catch up with a members of my team – informal chat…. Monday – Reviewing how we performed as a team during the last 7 days – look ahead over the coming week(s). Site Leadership Team meeting on a Tuesday and Friday. Cross site meetings on a Thursday, varitey of teams developing ideas and best practice – Engineering Professional Development, Risk Management, Helping to support the MerseySTEM Big Bang Fair to be held in Liverpool in July … Hope to see you there !!!

What I'd do with the money

I’d help identify a school where it would make the greatest difference – a school where opportunities are minimal – hoping that it would make a real difference and inspire an array of students…A career in Engineering is very rewarding…I’d like others to share this experience

  Yes… In primary school I had to spend part of the day in reception class

  I’d like to be involved in film production… cameraman or editor….

  Who is your favourite singer or band?

  Queen, Boxer Rebellion, Linkin Park… anything with a beat and tune !

  What's your favourite food?

  Chilli and Rice

  What is the most fun thing you've done?

  Mountain biking and canoeing weekends with my son’s in the Lake District…
