I would like to say that I’m not squeamish but I am with certain things.
I can’t stand animal cruelty and when I was at school I studied Natural History instead of Biology.
This was because I knew that if I had chosen Biology, I would have had to dissect a rat. 🙁
It’s not something I could bring myself to do.
I have a phobia too.
I am scared of heights and all my life I’ve tried to overcome this, but I have yet to find a way that I can cope with them.
Hi Davies!!!!!!!
I’m not very squeamish – I have what I call an iron stomach!! The only thing I can’t stand are needles… I hate getting a shot at the doctor’s!! One time I almost fainted because I hate to get a shot in my thumb! Yuck!!!!!!!!!!
I’m not squeemish at all I don’t think. However I do remember when I was at university we had to watch some video of some operations – a hip replacement and a new heart valve.
They warned us that it was pretty graphic – and it was! A couple of people in the lecture theatre fainted during the video. They didn’t think they would react like that, especially as it was pre-recorded, but it was something none of us could have prepared for as we had never seen anything like it.
I must confess it made me feel a little bit ill – but it was very interesting and made me realise how difficult it must be for surgeons to operate on someone – especially if it is an emergency!
