For my job it was about having the right qualifications to get a degree. In my case I was able to achieve 11 GCSEs – of different grades between A and C – which enabled me to study for my A levels, which then meant I could go on to university. I don;t know how many GCSEs you need now to study for A-levels (It might be worth asking your teacher), but there are other qualifications you can get to start in Engineering, like HNCs which you can study for while training as an apprentice. So if you’re not that academic, it might be better for you to get some hands-on experience while you study, and there’s nothing to stop you getting to the same level, or even higher level than those who went to university. A lot of the important managers and directors I’ve worked for started their careers as apprentices.

In the United States, it is a little bit different. I never had to achieve GCSEs. I went through 12 years of elementary school and high school. I usually got all A’s in my classes.

Hello there erabsky. 🙂 Please to meet you.

If you want to be an engineer you should try to get some science GCSE’s if you can. The amount of qualifications you need varies and a lot depends on yourself as well. 🙂

Sorry, I did my schooling in India and we have different grading in India. I studied physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and geography before my Uni studies, if it helps.

Other subjects I studied were: English, two more languages (Sanskrit and Marathi), History and Social sciences.
