Question: what is the most exciting thing you have/are working on?

The most exciting thing I’ve been involved in at the moment is a secret! There is something new on the bed I’m working on that is quite interesting and useful – but I’m not allowed to write about it on here in case someone else tries to copy it. The only thing I can say is that I had never seen it done before and I was very impressed!

Before my current job, the most exciting thing I worked on was part of a satellite that is used as part of the Russian satellite navigation system. I thought it was really amazing that the things I was working on would eventually end up in space. In fact they are up there now, and will stay up there for many years to come, constantly going round the earth and transmitting signals back to the surface. It is a wonderful feeling to know that things I have held in my hand are now so far away outside the Earth’s atmosphere!
