I did my undergraduate studies back in India, there I went to University of Pune (http://www.unipune.ac.in/).
I completed my postgraduate studies in the UK, for MSc I went to University of Strathclyde (http://www.strath.ac.uk/) and studied for PhD at University of Aberdeen (http://www.abdn.ac.uk/)
I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds – where Amit is studying now, although we’ve never actually met! It was quite close to home and I met some of my closest friends there. It’s been nearly 6 years since I left but I’m still in touch with many of the people on my course. It was – and still is – a very friendly place to study with lots going on, I’m sure Amit would agree.
I went to Louisiana State University for my undergraduate degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering. LSU (http://www.lsu.edu/) is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, or what is called the ‘Boot’ state in the United States. Louisiana is located in the South of the U.S. – it borders the Gulf of Mexico. I loved Louisiana and LSU so much that I stayed there for my graduate degree, also in Biological and Agricultural Engineering.
After some time away from LSU, I returned (because I missed it so!) to pursue my PhD in Journalism 😉
People really are friendlier in Louisiana than anywhere else in the United States! Life is happy down here – I spend lots of time outdoors because it is always warm here!
I went to the University of Bath, and absolutely loved my time there! It was quite daunting at first as I was moving abroad (I grew up in France), but uni years really are the best for making friends and trying new things!
I went to the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (in Wales) and it’s recently changed its name to Cardiff Metropolitan University. Cardiff is a really great place to study. There are lots of students living here and there are always lots of things happening.
Yes Martin, it is still an excellent place to study and work. Though I have finished my studies and I am working at Leeds now, students at Leeds enjoy studying here! And I would say most of the Universities are excellent places to learn, in their own right….

I agree with Amit and I think the final choice is down to the subject and what amenities you are looking for personally. 🙂
