Hello Ashley. Great question and it’s really got me thinking!
I like engineering because I can learn about everything around me from buildings to fast cars and toys we buy at Christmas, to medical devices that help people and save lives!
I like engineering because I’m always learning about something new, every single day.
I like engineering because it lets me be creative.
I like engineering because without it we wouldn’t have any bikes, PlayStations, computers, facebook…there wouldn’t be any schools, hospitals, swimming pools, ice skating rinks…we’d have no clean water, nowhere to cook, nothing to cook with, no plates to eat from, no beds to sleep in, no washing machines, no toothbrushes, no dog leads, no MacDonalds or BK, no cinema, no TV, no medicines and not an awful lot really, so yeah! I like engineering a lot, it makes the world go around …literally! 🙂
I love finding out how things work and finding out if there are ways to make something better. There are always ways to improve something or develop a new idea to see if it will work. There is always something new and exciting to get involved with.
I like engineering because:
Frequently, I am faced with a problem, a challenge, a question. And when I find a solution, I learn something new. I get to understand things, I get to understand things in detail, I get to experiment, try new things, discover new things. This gives me satisfaction, therefore I like it!
I really enjoy engineering, and I LOVE talking, writing, and engaging students in engineering. 🙂
I like engineering so much because it is a CREATIVE process. You are trying to build materials and processes better than they have every been built before. You are constantly working on new problems as our society advances in the arts of technology, ‘smart’ architecture, and personalized medicine.
