• Question: Do you have any advice for people taking A levels?

      The obvious is to try and study effectively by keeping on top of everything, carefully planning and managing your time. If you are about to take your AS levels I suggest looking for summer schools at local Universities so you can get a taste of engineering for a week during your summer holiday to make sure engineering is the right choice for you.
      It may be good to try and find an area of interest to help you narrow down where you want to take your engineering career. You might be interested in aerospace engineering, or automotive, or space exploration! Learning what interests you will help you choose a University which has the facilities to nurture your interests and help you take your life in the direction you want to go in.

      I agree completely with what Will has said, I think the only thing I could add is that when it comes to exam time; practice, practice, practice! Get as many example questions out of your teachers as you can so that you have a better idea of what style they will be.

      I also agree with what Will said – also, don’t forget that it’s not the end of the world! You don’t have to do amazingly, and it’s not a race to university. If you muck up or don’t know what you want to study, you can take time out and that’s okay. Just a hint, because I feel like there’s a lot of pressure on folks in college to be a superhero.
