If I were to change discipline I’d probably be a material scientist/engineer. I always found the behaviour of materials in terms of chemistry and physical properties fascinating.

If I were to keep the same skills but change field I’d like to be a studio engineer. Recording, mixing and mastering music looks like an awful lot of fun and I’d love to have a chance to do it.

Maybe a food or biomedical engineer. I like food 🙂 but I also think the whole process of supply and demand is interesting for example how Dairy Milk supplies enough chocolate on a daily basis throughout the whole of the UK (especially at Xmas). Biomedical engineering would be cool since it developing and understanding equipment that are used by or for patients.

I’d quite like to get involved with ergonomics, I’ve always thought the most interesting designs were those that worked well with people and the human form.

This is a difficult question, all of the kinds of engineering are so interesting! After much thought, I think that if I had to change, I would be an electronic or mechatronic engineer, so that I could work on robots (because robots, who wouldn’t?) but I would still prefer to be in clinical engineering, like I am!
