Both parts are fantastic, I think the course is more important, the fact that it creates this amazing social environment helps make it an incredible experience.

I think the answer depends on who you ask. I know some people who invested more times into their societies than their courses and have turned them into businesses after they have finished. Some people came to study, and some people enjoyed the whole package.

Living independently was a massive plus for me as it allowed me to really find myself and gave me the chance to chase things up I’ve never tried before.

All of the above! I genuinely enjoyed my course and I loved having all of the student societies to help to try new things and meet people who are interested in the same things as you. It’s not going to be incredible as soon as you get there though, everyone feels a bit displaced when they move somewhere new, and especially if you haven’t lived away from home before it can be easy to feel like you should be having fun. If you slot in immediately and have a rave the first day, great, but if not then you’re in the majority. Just wanted to say that because I know lots of people give up quickly, and it took me a good year or two to settle in!
