I like bike riding – plus i bike to work and back every day, reading books (i just finished a spy novel from the 1930’s), fixing things that break around my flat, i’ve got 1 hamster and 20 fish, and i like to hang out with my wife – we’re not old and boring quite yet!
My favourite thing to do is probably just lie on the couch with some beers, but I spend most of my spare time surfing, wakeboarding snowborading or racing motorbikes
I like playing Xbox and watching films, I draw a lot of silly pictures of evil squirrels and Monkey Ghost. I play the guitar a bit and I’ve been known to write a few short stories – mostly ghost stories.
My wife and I also just adopted two kittens from a local rescue shelter and they’re very nervous, so at the moment we’re spending quite a lot of time trying to get them to relax; feeding them treats…and chicken. A lot of chicken.
I get to sit down enough at work, so outside of work I try and be as active as possible. I’m running the London Marathon in a few weeks so I’m doing lots of training for that. Yesterday I did the Silverstone Half Marathon which was really cool as we got to run around the Formula 1 circuit!
I love getting out walking/climbing in the mountains, I go to North Wales quite a lot (shout out to Ysgol Dinas Bran in Llangollen!) and the Scottish highlands when I get the chance too. I also go caving too!
For the most part, I don’t think so. I like Lego and Meccano, but I suspect I’d like those even if I was working in Tesco. I think my job is where the logical, technical and scientific bit of me gets its kicks. My hobbies outside work are where the big kid in me gets to play with his toys.

Do you think that your hobbies have any connection with your job?
