Hi Jake – sorry, my aim isn’t to convince you to become an engineer! 😉 I simply want to let people learn more about what engineering is really about, but it’s completely up to you whether you want to become one!
Agree with all the others, what you end up doing in life is up to you, and depends how motivated you are, what you like, what opportunities come your way. For all of us engineering was a good career, but that’s our lives so if you become an engineer, great, but if that’s not what you’re interested in then follow you passion to somewhere else, best of luck!
Hey Kat, engineering is a bit of a mix of science, maths and technology. If you enjoy one or more of them there’ll definitely be a some sort of job you enjoy within engineering.
If you decided to go down the A-levels/University route then it’s maths and science that are pretty essential. You school proabably has a careers advisor who can help with specifics if you’re worried. Hope that helps!
But what if you don’t know what it is you want to do when your my age I don’t have a clue about what I want to do so how would you advise me to go to a carrier of becoming an engineer???????xx
