• Question: when you get stuck who do you ask

      Excellent question!

      It depends what I’m stuck on, but these days, if I’m honest, the first place I look is Wikipedia. I can’t say how much I LOVE Wikipedia – sure, you’ve got to be a little careful about what you believe, but for technical or scientific subjects, it’s usually really good. As a one-stop-shop of answers, there’s no beating it.

      Mind, because I work with a lot of engineers who are all specialists in different things, generally I can find someone else in the company who knows that answers…and if even they don’t know, we can band together and work out an answer 90% of the time. That’s always great fun!

      Great question! Absolutely most important thing to realise about engineers and scientists is that, whilst it may appear they know lots about everything, they’re actually all really specialised and know lots and lots about very specific things. Therefore they have to work in teams to get things done!

      So when I get stuck, I go and find someone around work who knows more about that subject than I do, they’ll then help me find the right answer. Much like you do at school, I bet if you took your French homework to your Science teacher they wouldn’t be able to help much!

      I ask my fellow workers and my boss for help all the time, it’s really useful. We are in offices right next to each other so i can go over any time, or sometimes just literally shout out a question and see who the first person to answer is. It’s way better than homework in a way, because you can always (and SHOULD always) ask for help from others.
