Here’s one reason – without engineers you would not be able to listen to one direction!
You need engineers to design and make the microphones, sound system and recording equipment, build the venues for them to play in, design and make the transport that gets them to the venues, design and run the production lines that produce the cd’s, the covers, the cases, design and look after the software to store the songs online and make them accessible to you, design and run the power stations that give you electricity to play on the hifi/computer/ipod, i could go on but i think you get the point…
No engineers – no one direction for you!

There’s not much more to say! Most of the things that make the modern world brilliant need engineers and scientists to help make them work! Phones, computers, the internet, more efficient cars, cleaner energy, better medicines…and so much more!

Great answers already, also take a look at the answered questions as we’ve answered this one a few times, it’s a great career that is very stimulating ( in terms of working with great people, on interesting projects, that challenge your thiking and reasoning skills), and it pays well too. It’s something you’d be proud to do.
