Question: Your work in the nuclear sector sounds very interesting. Do you ever fear a catastrophe like Chernobyl could happen again?

Very good question. I don’t fear that something like Chernobyl could happen again. Safety is the absolute top priority in the nuclear industry, and so much work is constantly being done to ensure that nuclear incidents are avoided. It is also important to understand that Chernobyl occurred due to a combination of reasons including an inherently unsafe reactor design and incredibly poor operational management from those running the reactor at the time of the accident. We would have to try very hard to cause an accident of the same severity ever again.
