Question: If anything were to go wrong while testing the model how would you find the source of the problem. Would you rethink the whole idea or do you test little bit at a time and then add them all up to create the aircraft.

There are a number of engineering models / methods that assist me with the engineering development processes, however, I think that if I was conducting a test and there was an error, I would immediately halt the testing and work with my team of experts to analyse available data to determine the root cause of the fault. I would then work out a fix for the problem going forward and test this to make sure that it worked.

In terms of an aircraft, all systems (i.e. Flight Controls, Avionics, Mechanical, Hydraulics, Fuel etc) are tested on their own first, before being integrated onto a specialise rig (essentially all the systems of the aircraft without the actual airframe) to make sure that they all work together as expected.
