I read about RAL Space and STFC after I saw the job advert. Once I actually started researching them I realised they have had a key part in over 210 space missions, of which I had heard of a lot of them. Missions like Hubble, and JWST, and the recent InSight mission that landed on Mars. Almost every image that you see of the sun, with the solar flares coming out of it are taken by a RAL space cameras, and that blew my mind.

That coupled with the fact that STFC have two particle accelerators here on this site, as well as one of the most powerful lasers in the world just topped it off for me.

When i was researching about BT i learnt there was lots of department which drew me towards applying as i knew that there would be room for progression and elevation within different departments.
Also i heard that BT was really good at supporting apprentices and providing them with opportunities as they want to inspire future generations.

The apprenticeship I completed was a very good package of education, work experience and work/life balance. The Ministry of Defence, in line with most large organisations, offer flexible working and other opportunities to ensure that you perform to the best of your ability in a way that works for both you and the organisation.
