About the Milligram Zone
A milligram is a unit of measurement, equal to a thousandth of a gram. You might use milligrams to weigh out small quantities of a chemical in your science lessons, or read them on a box of Paracetamol tablets.
This is a general engineering zone, where you will meet six engineers all working in different areas. One investigates and re-creates road accidents and another uses pressure sensors to detect what lower limb amputees are “feeling” to improve the fit of prosthetic limbs. You’ll also meet an engineer who designs and makes widgets for teaching and research and another who uses computers to design sewers so that the waste goes to the correct place to get treated.
