I wouldn’t say my items are famous but my work is useful. I was in the newspaper once after helping run a project building new classrooms at Aberdeen College.
Nothing I’ve done individually has made any headlines yet. I was lucky enough to help out on a piece of equipment we manufactured for the European Space Agency (ESA), to help calibrate the micro-vibrations of satellites in orbit, that was pretty cool knowing something I was involved with was being used for the space industry!
I was part of a team that re-designed a Cessna plane and converted it into a car of some sort to help us escape from a desert in Mexico. It was on TV so i guess that makes it count as famous 🙂
Wind Turbines are pretty famous – they generate renewable electricity and are often in the papers. Not everybody likes them so they are a talking point. There’s a museum especially for wind turbines near Glasgow at Whitelee wind farm.
