I enjoy the creative aspects of my job the most. It can be quite daunting staring at a blank sheet of paper when you’ve got a problem to solve, but once you get going and the creative juices start to flow it’s really exciting seeing what you can come up with. Of course there’s never a right and wrong answer and everyone’s always got a different opinion on what would be best, so it’s also good fun defending your idea and maybe even pinching aspects of someone else’s to incorporate into yours too… What teachers say copying is cheating, eh?!

I enjoy not knowing having a problem or situation that you have never had before working out an answer and getting that feeling that you achieved or the team have achieved its great

Also I like that every day is different I would hate to do the same job day in day out and month in month out ( yawn!!!! ) lol

      Exciting can never be bored

I love coming up with solutions to difficult design challenges, and brainstorming new ideas of how to get around them. And then seeing the actual designs made in real life!

I love going down to our cleanrooms (what they call our manufacturing and assembly areas as they have to be so clean) and seeing the stuff that was once just an idea in my head made into reality, and knowing that it’s ready to launch into space and go somewhere that no human being has ever been before. That’s a pretty cool feeling. Stuff that I’ve designed will touch the surface of Mars, and leave a mark where no human has been. It’s the next best thing to going there yourself and leaving a footprint!

That once you start a project you never really know what the exact outcome will be. It is interesting to see how your initial idea can go in completely different directions based on your research. As has been said before by Stu, it never gets boring as there is no wrong or right answer to your problem. 🙂
