      Hey ThomaTom,

I’ll go for James Dyson of vacuum cleaner / hand-drier fame. I remember doing a topic in primary school on inventors and his inventions highlighting to me that we don’t know everything and inventions were still being made to that day. Also the hand-dryers are sooooo much better than the ones that are too hot to put your hands under!

My dad he’s thought me a lot and I have always looked up to him ( because he’s 6’2″ lol ) but seriously I wouldn’t be who I am today without my dad

Even though he wanted me to be an aeronautical engineer like him but I wasn’t that interested in planes and went my own way

Elon Musk – he’s the founder of Tesla cars – the electric car company, and also SpaceX, which is the company making re-usable rockets and was the first commercial company (i.e. not a government funded organization like NASA) to send a supply ship up to the international space station. He’s also the real-life inspiration for IronMan – true story!

He basically just doesn’t listen to anyone who says its impossible, and employs all the people who are willing to try, and seems to be pretty successful at proving that with enough effort and brainpower, anything is possible. I think he’s a really inspirational guy.

That is a really difficult question, but I would go for Alan Turing – a mathematician and computer scientist who cracked an encryption machine during World War 2.

(You can also look up Ada Lovelace – she was a mathematician and can be seen as the first computer programmer.
And just because he was born in the same city as I was – Gottlieb Daimler, who invented the high-speed petrol engine. 😉 )
