Question: Have you got a shock before you got electrocuted ?

Luckily I’ve never been electrocuted! We have strict rules in our labs and workshops to make sure people are being safe. There are a few engineers who answered a similar question here: /space20-zone/question/have-you-ever-hurt-yourself-or-electrocuted-yourself-while-doing-your-job/

Have I ever been killed by a electric shock? No. Not for want of trying though.
When I was a teenager I was changing my room bulb… (This is me being a moron, so don’t try this at home)… I couldn’t remember if the light switch was on or not. So, without thinking, I licked my finger tip and touched the two bulb socket pins. I woke up in the corner of the room, 2-3 m away from where I’d been standing, my whole body fizzing. After that I have never made any mistakes with electricity as I had 2 perfectly round burn scars on my finger for years to remind me how close I’d been to electrocution.
