I wasn’t involved in the Perseverance Mars mission as part of my job, but I did watch the landing, which was quite nerve-wracking to watch! It went really well, and the lander successfully made it to the surface of Mars. Since it landed it has sent back lots of amazing pictures of the surface of Mars – I would definitely recommend having a look at them. Lots of the features on the Martian surface are similar to things we also see here on Earth. You could have a go at comparing the pictures of Mars with pictures of deserts on Earth – what looks the same and what looks different? What do you think might cause these similarities and differences?
