I think I answered this during the chat TCardinal 🙂
I have had my biggest achievement in engineering this year: I lead a part of a project.
The project started last year and is called PLATO. I had never worked on a new mission before, never worked on a mission on my own before and never lead the thermal analysis before.
Lots of pressure: some mistakes, but actually, it seems to be going ok!
Similar to Katie – I was made lead OBDH (On Board Data Handling) engineer for one of my projects – NovaSAR. This meant I was responsible for the technical design and delivery of all the OBDH modules – computer, payload interface units, data storage modules, thermal monitoring unit and safety processor. I felt a bit like I’d been chucked in the deep end but it was a really good way of learning fast. I also made some mistakes and am still learning but so far it seems to be going well!
