• Question: What is an engineer?

      It is someone who designs things, builds them or tries to come up with ways to improve them – this could be relating to electricity, cars, planes, materials, biomaterials, energy etc

      I think an engineer is someone who makes things work: that could be designing something that works, or working out where it’s gone wrong then coming up with a possble way of fixing it.
      Often, the things that an engineer designs is made by technicians – but some engineers make their things too.
      The things an engineer designs (And builds) could be anything at all, which is why you get so many different types of engineering.

      I agree with Katie and Rhys – and engineer is someone who is curious about the way things work and tries to design and build new technologies or make old technology work in a different way.
