My Work
π©π»βπI work with space inventors, entrepreneurs, researchers and businesses to ensure their satellite technology makes money and brings the best possible benefit to earth.

π Satellite technology is used for Google Maps, by weather forecasters, for the location on your phone and soon for self-driving (autonomous) cars.
π° Using satellite technology we can achieve so many cool things, we can help climate change, we can help track endangered animals, we can work with farmers globally to help grow the best possible food, we can help emergency services locate people in help in remote locations.
π I help teams think critically and creatively about what they want to do and why. I ask questions like ‘how will people use it?’ and ‘what’s the benefit to those that use it?’. We come up with new ideas of how people can use the information from space, and how it can change people’s lives for the better.
π©π»βπ¨My role can be called a number of things – a ‘design thinker’, a ‘service designer’ or ‘user centred designer’.
-
My Typical Day: π©π»βπ»I work mostly from home using my laptop to connect with my team members and colleagues. π‘π Starting work at 9am and finishing at 5pm, my typical day includes designing 'workshops', which are team activities to help generate new ideas and make decisions. They are fun and interactive, using lots of sticky-notes to write down ideas, and we draw pictures and diagrams to help explain things visually and connect new links.

β½οΈ Workshop activities are a bit like a training session in team sports. You will practice different things like shooting, or defending or attacking. Or activities will include different ‘drills’ to help us know how to score a business goal, and we decide our method of ‘attack’ by deciding how we are going to develop the technology and system to achieve what we want it to.
π― The workshops include lots of different people, from core engineers and technical staff, to market researchers and business strategy leaders. We together share our expertise to help make the best decisions on what we should do and how we should do it. We will have a game plan and everyone will have their own role in making the project a success.

An architect.
Were you ever in trouble at school?

Architecture. I'd love to design inspirational spaces using sustainable materials and methods.
Who is your favourite singer or band?
Rend Collective.
