Question: hi Angus how old do you have to be when you study engineering?

Well….. for me I left school at 17 years old (after 5th year). I started to study engineering at college when I was 17, then after doing some engineering jobs in the summer I went to university. If you are going to go to University to study engineering, I guess you’d normally be 18 or 19. But, hey…. you don’t need to get into University to study or do engineering. You could start an apprenticeship or get a job in engineering at maybe 16 and see how you like it (you could study more or go to University later).
