It’s amazing being able to work with such a brilliant academic community! We are a team of around 150 scientists who are working hard to put the LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) spacecraft into “orbit” around the earth. The LISA spacecraft will be able to detect absolutely massive black hole collisions (when black holes smash into each other) at very large distances, which we can’t do right now!
The LISA spacecraft is a hugely complicated piece of engineering and I’m absolutely ecstatic I am one of the first generations to go into the field.

I am not directly part of LISA. However one of the systems engineers in my group is part of the LISA project.
