Question: what would happen if the earth stopped spinning for a year

We would be thrown off the earth! Think about it… suppose you are in a car travelling at 20 miles an hour. If the car breaks, you will feel a force which moves you forward. Now imagine you are travelling at roughly 1000 miles an hour and the car suddenly stops… what happens to you? Yep, you’re thrown out of the car at such a velocity you’ll leave the Earth. So, if the Earth stops spinning… everything would be thrown into the atmosphere and possibly into orbit! Everything would cease to live on the earth as no living animal could survive this.
